    ASSISTANT CARPENTER

    Job Type: Full-time

    Overview

    Pine Street Carpenters is seeking reliable and motivated Assistant Carpenters to support projects across both our residential remodeling (Pine Street Carpenters) and commercial contracting (Pine Street Construction) divisions. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of carpentry tasks, working alongside experienced craftsmen on kitchens, bathrooms, interior renovations, and commercial buildouts.

    The Assistant Carpenters will play an important part in ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. While most of our residential work is local to the West Chester, PA area, availability for weeknight overnight travel with our commercial team may be needed to support out-of-town commercial projects occasionally.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support lead carpenters and project managers on residential and commercial construction projects.
    • Perform a variety of carpentry-related tasks, including material handling, site preparation, demolition, and basic installation.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
    • Load, unload, and transport materials and tools as needed.
    • Follow company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.

    Qualifications

    • The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of carpentry, construction, or trade school experience.
    • Basic knowledge of carpentry skills, including wood framing, metal framing, trim, hanging drywall, and hanging drop ceilings.
    • Willingness to travel for overnight assignments as needed (no weekends).
    • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks in varying conditions.
    • Professional presentation.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Possess a valid drivers license and have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
