The West Chester Downtown Foundation held its 10th Annual “Preservation Awards” at the Chester County History Center on October 21, and Pine Street’s remodel of the West Chester Friends meetinghouse was honored with a “Brick and Mortar” award. These awards recognize construction projects in the borough that highlight and preserve West Chester’s historic character.

Above and beyond the historical nature of this remodel, this construction project transformed the meetinghouse into a fully accessible worship and gathering space for those with mobility issues, making the building truly reflect the heart of the Quakers: a welcoming community!
